Zeev-Wolf was a renowned rabbi, author of "Marginal Notes of Ben Aryeh,"
which have been published in the famous Romm Edition of the Talmud.
Before he became Rabbi in Goldingen, Courland, and in Telshi (Samogitia)
he had been instructor in Talmud at Zhagory, and as such was his son,
Israel's, first teacher. (from "Israel Salanter," by Menachem Glenn,
1953.)
